MANLY – OSBORNE ROAD

RESIDENTIAL RENOVATION

DRAFTSMAN:  The Earth Drafting Company

The brief was ‘Alteration & Additions’ to an existing semi on the Eastern Hill in Manly.

The design intent was drafted however the structural & architectural detailing was directed by Rojo with the client.

The design incorporated removal of the back half of the existing dwelling and excavation to the back and side boundaries, with a shotcrete retaining wall running down the three boundaries and front carport area.

A polished concrete slab was installed in the back half of the house with a large structural steel portal frame installed to create the second level above & ground floor framing. A longline roof and side roof cladding was incorporated with structural steel elements expressed with cedar at the back half of the house.

Client selected internal finishes & joinery completed the job beautifully, with a hydronic heated black polished concrete floor to keep the semi heated during the cooler months.
